As Canon Ireland had been taking my catechism classes I returned to be confirmed in 78 and then one weekend on leave from school my mother told me Canon Ireland had collapsed and died that week.Jock Coatshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15550558005508328017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606798.post-85787279035728009682010-10-03T08:25:02.502+01:002010-10-03T08:25:02.502+01:00For the latest historical update about this villag...For the latest historical update about this village watch BBC TV series - Michael Wood's "The Story of England" (Autumn 2010) and check out new website: www.kibworthvillage.co.ukKevinhttp://www.kibworthvillage.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606798.post-62689610096437405492010-01-29T19:06:16.662+00:002010-01-29T19:06:16.662+00:00No, the Rose & Crown later became and Indian r...No, the Rose & Crown later became and Indian restaurant and is currently boarded up.

Kibworth Harcourt's pub was on the village's Main Street.Jonathan Calderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00730157683743989696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606798.post-2624492593964154922010-01-29T13:31:40.993+00:002010-01-29T13:31:40.993+00:00its pub has been turned into an Italian restaurant...its pub has been turned into an Italian restaurant

You mean the Rose & Crown on the main road was it? When we moved to Kibworth (Beauchamp), oh, about 32 years ago now, we stayed in that pub for a few nights till our house purchase completed. It ought to have closed back then. It was miserable!
