A record day on Liberal England - thanks to Stephen Fry

On Monday, thanks to my post about Johann Hari and Amazon, this blog had the most visitors in a day since the coalition negotiations were taking place just after last year's general election.

Then yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon I was looking at Statcounter at work (as you do) when I noticed that I was suddenly getting an enormous number of hits on a post about a British Psychological Society report called Understanding Bipolar Disorder and that they were all coming from Twitter.

Bipolar disorder. Twitter. A huge volume of traffic. Could it be?

I went on to Twitter myself and sure enough...

The result was that yesterday this blog had 7887 unique visitors, which is by a long way the most visitors it has ever had in one day.

So thanks to Stephen Fry - and zany_zigzag, of course - I have done a good job of promoting this report for my employer while boosting my own readership. Call it inadvertent synergy.

Brilliant!

My daily record is a far more modest 1,422 following a post I wrote on the death of Osama Bin Laden on the day that he was killed!

Do you use google analytics for your stats?

I linked to the report from my blog (after discovering it through yours), and many of my readers became extremely interested.

The report is very valuable and enlightening and I din't think I would have found it if it hadn't been for your blog. So thanks!

well done, most hits I have had in one day is around a 1000 that seemed a large amount to me. That was back in the days before RCC staff were blocked

I am still using Statcounter for my stats.

Glad you liked the report, Clarissa.
