I know we all suffer from outrage fatigue, but if you are not angered by the allegations in this Guardian story there is something wrong.
A police officer steals the identity of a dead child and uses it to infiltrate perfectly legal pressure groups. While undercover he forms two relationships, fathers a child and then walks away from his responsibilities to enjoy a successful career.

I absolutely agree Jonathan. If a woman has been misled as to the identity of her lover, then she is not consenting to sex with him, only with the man he is pretending to be. It seems to me that that fulfills the definition of rape and the CPS should be considering a prosecution.
What I find particularly disturbing is that this man who has serially sexually exploited young women, one much younger than him, is still working in academia.
