Ali announced her resignation on Wednesday [shurely Thursday? - Ed.] evening after hours of intense criticism from housing charities and opposition parties. She had been under pressure to explain the contradiction between the stated reason for ending the tenancy and the decision to re-let the home at a higher price after no buyer was found.

I see no reason why a Landlord should not sell a property to the council as/if/of 1st Refusal. opportunity. This Landlord sells to the council and gets her money.The council gets property. They charge rent and over time it is paid for and money is plowed back to council services. One way of freeing up homes for the young to start life in. LIBDEMs should be imaginative, radical with new ideas.
