Conservative councillor calls for express lane for pedestrians

The BBC reports:
An "express lane" for pedestrians who want to travel along Edinburgh's Princes Street quickly without being held back by shoppers is being mooted.

Tory councillor Jason Rust, said he planned to launch a motion to councillors next month with the idea to help combat "pavement rage".
If a Labour or Lib Dem councillor did that, right-wing bloggers would be banging on about the "nanny state".

  1. This would be the Jason Rust who has apparently emerged as front-runner to be Tory PPC in Edinburgh South West, taking on Alistair Darling. I wonder if his new-found penchant for headline-grabbing populism is connected?
