Am I just an old fogey, or is it really true that popular music of this era is far better than anything since? I'm of the age when stuff like DDDBM&T was considered embarassing light-weight material which the giants of prog rock had pushed out, yet now I find it stands up amazingly well when I listen to it again.
Of course, one can see now that what DDDBM&T did were part of the build up to prog rock, but actually they were better because they did it in a light-weight way.
