The Great Hall of Oakham Castle

The Norman Great Hall of Oakham Castle, says Culture24, is:

a late 12th century fortified manor house, is one of the finest domestic buildings of the period. It stands within walled earthworks, and remains of an earlier motte and bailey castle are also visible. Within, the columns are decorated with sculptures of medieval musicians, and other fine Romanesque carvings survive. On the walls hang over 200 unique presentation horseshoes forfeited by royalty and peers of the realm to the Lord of the manor of Oakham.

Until 2001, Rutland's magistrates' courts were held here regularly, and the Great Hall still occasionally hosts court business.

You can find in the centre of the town, just off the market place.
