So farewell then Pendulum Records

Before it is forgotten it is time to salute Market Harborough's last specialist record shop, Pendulum Records, which closed last month.

According to the Harborough Mail:
A worker at the store, who declined to be named, said: “We’ve been affected by the internet and basically not had enough people come through the doors.

  1. Sad to see, but unfortunately it's happening everywhere. DId they attempt to harness the internet or just ignore it?

  2. Never been to Market Harborough, so my chance to ever go to Pendulum Records is now gone. Such a shame to see so many independent record shops going - competing with the internet and the supermarkets is tough, but there's plenty of us who will be sad when that's all we have left!

  4. England swings like a pendulum do
Bobbies on bicycles, two by two
Westminster Abbey, the tower of Big Ben,
The rosy red cheeks of the little children.

Now, if you huff and puff and you finally save enough
Money up to take your family on a trip across the sea,
Take a tip before you take your trip; let me tell you where to go,
    Go to England, Oh..

England swings like a pendulum do
Bobbies on bicycles, two by two
Westminster Abbey the tower of Big Ben,
The rosy red cheeks of the little children.

Your mama's old pajamas and your papa's mustache,
Falling out the window sill, frolic in the grass,
Tryin' to mock the way they talk fun but all in vain,
Gaping at the dapper men with derby hats and canes

England swings like a pendulum do
Bobbies on bicycles, two by two
Westminster Abbey the tower of Big Ben,
The rosy red cheeks of the little children.

  5. It happens everywhere. In March this year we saw the closing down of the Virgin Megastore on times Square, New York City - so even the really big stores are hit by the internet and the trend do downloading music...
