Mouse Brain Study May Have Implications for Anxiety, PTSD
Lord Bonkers comments exclusively for Liberal England:
PTSD, I am informed, is the modern term what we used to call "shell shock". During the Great War, I am afraid to report, this condition was little understood and often mistaken for cowardice. The result of this misapprehension was that many mice were tried by courts martial and then shot for cowardice.
That was the idea, at any rate. However, mice being (in my experience) very small and given to running about a lot, they proved very difficult to shoot. Sometimes the Regimental Cat would be summoned - but you know what cats are.
these little mice were easy to shoot!
