The Severn Railway Bridge

The film above shows the demolition of the Severn Railway Bridge, which took place between 1967 and 1970.

There is much more about the disaster which led to the loss of the bridge, including an hour-long documentary, on the BBC Gloucestershire site.

"Antiquated machinery", "sentimental lovers of past glories"...

The commentary obviously does not share the values that led Sir John Betjeman to save St Pancras.
