Two Leicestershire Conservative county councillors join UKIP

We last saw David Sprason when he was in the soup for leaving a porn DVD in his council laptop. It could happen to anybody.

Today comes news that he has left the Conservatives and joined UKIP and will be defending his Markfield, Desford and Thornton seat under their colours in May.

Not only that.

Rob Fraser, who was elected as a Conservative but has been sitting as an Independent since September of last year, has joined UKIP too.

He is best known for his alleged remarks at a meeting held to discuss plans for a travellers' site in 2009. According to the Leicester Mercury at the time:
Robert Fraser, county councillor for Groby and Ratby, said Romanians would "stick a knife in you as soon as look at you", and that some Europeans "make the Irish look like complete amateurs".
I am sure Messrs Sprason and Fraser will feel very much at home in UKIP.
