Four years ago the two Market Harborough seats were knife-edge marginals. In 2005 the Liberal Democrats won Market Harborough East with a majority of 27 and the Conservatives won Market Harborough West & Foxton with a majority of 8.
Yesterday, Sarah Hill increased her majority in Market Harborough East to 307, but Phil Knowles failed to gain Market Harborough West & Foxton by 18.
Well done to both of them for a great campaign. Across Leicestershire the Liberal Democrats lost one councillor but outpolled UKIP.
