According to the Radio Times record, Michael Aspel delivered regional news on the day of my birth. It was Town and Around, "A daily presentation of news and views from London and the South-East".
My parents and sisters did not own a TV at the time; somebody else, a bit more northern than Michael Aspel, delivered a different news programme to our northern neighbours with tellys. I'd love to know who made it.
Kids were entertained by William Brown. The young actor, Dennis Waterman, must be proud of his work and that of his more famous father ;-)
