J.W. Logan's Wikipedia entry now has this picture of the great man.
It's not as good as the one of him with the East Langton ladies cricket team, mind.
Logan, as regular readers will know, was Liberal MP for Harborough between 1891 and 1904, and between 1910 and 1916.
They will also know that he once instigated a mass brawl on the floor of the Commons.
And as I recently blogged, Logan is quoted in The Shortest History of England by James Hawes.
There are several hundred Liberal heroes from the pre-Great War era it's hard to pick out just the one as a favourite. One who deserves more prominence, perhaps is Granville William Gresham Leveson-Gower, MP for Reigate in the 1860s. He never instigated any mass brawls but Reigate was disenfranchised as a constituency for nearly 20 years after allegations of widespread corruption in the 1865 election. He also had 12 sons, one of whom was Dudley, who captained England vs South Africa in 1910 (two other sons - Frederick and Evelyn-Marmaduke also played first class)
