EXCLUSIVE: Wikio's political blog rankings for May

Those nice people at Wikio have given me advance sight of their new rankings for political blogs.

The full rankings, which list the top 100 blogs, will be on their website soon, but here is the new top 20 with last month's position in brackets:

1Iain Dale's Diary (1)
2Guy Fawkes' blog (2)
3Liberal Conspiracy (3)
4ConservativeHome's ToryDiary (4)
5Labourlist (10)
6politicalbetting.com (5)
7Liberal Democrat Voice (6)
8Labourhome (13)
9Harry's Place (9)
10Dizzy Thinks (8)
11The Devil's Kitchen (7)
12Old Holborn (12)
13Bloggerheads (14)
14John Redwood's Diary (11)
15Chicken Yoghurt (15)
16Telegraph Blogs - Daniel Hannan (18)
17Tory Bear (-)
18Stumbling and Mumbling (16)
19Mr Eugenides (22)
20Archbishop Cranmer (17)

The striking thing about this list is how little things change from month to month. The top 4 have been the top 4 for as long as anyone can remember.

The two biggest risers this month are both Labour blogs: Labourlist and Labourhome. Derek Draper will probably tell you it is not true that there is no such thing as bad publicity, but Labour's recent travails have clearly made good copy for Labour bloggers

Also worthy of note is the sudden appearance of Tory Bear at no.17. As the bear was not even in the top 100 last month, I assume he has just registered his blog with the Wikio site. (If your blog is not listed by Wikio, you should consider doing the same.)

Once the full list is up on the Wikio site I shall do another posting concentrating on Lib Dem blogs.

The striking thing about this is that even despite being featured heavily on the BBC for five days straight, Guido has still not knocked Dale off his perch.

Yes I'm shocked that the top two haven't changed round this month. Very concerning.

Still, wish they'd hurry up and publish the full list :D
