The Bird of Liberty has turned blue overnight
An email reaches me from Andrew Wiseman. It tells of "an exciting and diverse agenda for our week in Brighton".
That is good to hear, but I am struck at once by the illustration. What have they done to Libby? She has turned blue overnight.
I am struggling to see how this helps in our efforts to differentiate ourselves from the Conservatives in the eyes of the voters.
A 14-year-old from Nick Clegg's office replies: It's not blue, it's aqua. So there.

Aqua. Isn't that what shampoo manufacturers tell is their main ingredient, in order to avoid admitting it's really just water?
Ah, you see this is all part of the plan, and it really is Terribly Clever!
The idea is to make the Lib Dems look as much like the Tories as humanly possible. Then, come April 2015 when we finally remove the mask and reveal ourselves to have been Liberals all along, people will be so shocked and awed by the transformation that they will forget about everything we actually did in the last 5 years.
I believe this trick has proved devastatingly successful in light opera for many years.
Aqua ? I've always thought of it as Arriva. Arn't buses in you neck of the woods this colour ?
