The first Lord Bonkers?

Most historians agree that the Bonkers family is descended from the Norman knight Jean De Bon Coeur, who came over with the Conqueror - even if some maintain that he was obliged to return home shortly afterwards.

However, recent restoration work performed on the Cerne Abbas Giant has breathed new life into the theory that the Bonkers have been in England much longer than that.

  1. This will explain why Bonker's father stayed with the Grand Old Man when most of the Ascendancy went with the Liberal Unionists over Home Rule.

Buinn còir - downright decent... slightly Anglicised become bonn còir or bonncòir.

Bonkers is of course "glan às a' chiall" – I’m at a loss as to its precise derivation.
