Burton Overy still has a pub, a church and and a village hall, which are about all the facilities a village can expect today. Even the idea of a sub post office now brings with it a piercing nostalgia.
When I was there today I spotted this old telephone box, which looks as though it has been turned into a library. An old article in the Harborough Mail suggests it is in fact a village swap shop.
