The Guardian reports:
"Geraint has kept very well this summer, but he has been short of runs and the selectors feel this is the right time to make a change," explained chairman of selectors David Graveney.
"We have taken this decision regardless of the injury to Geraint's finger. The key factor for the selectors was his form with the bat and we believe he will benefit from having a break from international cricket and spending more time in the middle with his county."

Perhaps he's now the 'real wicket keeper' as his keeping has improved a lot, but his batting has deteriorated...
His competition have done the opposite...
I feel a bit sorry for Jones. Whilst I am in favour of genuine 'keepers (I always wanted Jack Russell in the side), I believe Jones has improved out of site and is as strong as Read standing up or back. Its his 91 runs in the last 10 innings that has ended this keeper/batsmens run.
He's not as young as you might think either.
