A rival to Nevill Holt as the model for Bonkers Hall may have emerged.I spent the afternoon at Rockingham Castle - a Norman fortification that became a grand country house in the 16th century and has been occupied by the same family ever since. Charles Dickens was a friend of that family and Rockingham was the inspiration for Chesney Wold in Bleak House.
