Andy Murray has just lost his Wimbledon quarter final to Rafael Nadal 6-3 6-2 6-4. So despite all the excitement and drama of the past 10 days, he has failed to reach the semi final.
Now reflect that Tim Henman reached the semi finals at Wimbledon four times.
It makes the way that the Guardian-reading classes insisted on treating Henman as a figure of fun look pretty silly. I fear it may look increasingly silly as the years go by.

Tim Henman was a couple of years or so older when he first reached a Wimbledon semi-final than Andy Murray is now.
Actually I think Henman's finest achievement was in reaching the semi-final of the French Open
Tim Henman never faced Nadal when he was playing like he was yesterday, though.
