The good news is that, perhaps helped by the Lib Dem Conference and the Blog of the Year awards, almost everyone has gone up since last month. Six Lib Dems in the top 30 and 10 in the top 50 is an impressive performance.

While my own climb is gratifying, I have to admit to being somewhat suspicious of the fact that Alix Mortimer has managed to climb 2 places despite not actually blogging for the three month period running up to that ranking being compiled.
No disrespect to Alix intended, but it does rather suggest that something is awry.
James - Alix was a judge for the LD Blog of the Year awards; as a result, she got quite a lot of links (including from Lib Dem Voice) during September. My guess is that's what affected her placing.

Wouldn't trust the results even slightly, I got 2000 more hits last month than the month before, and a lot more links, yet I dropped a hundred places. It only measures your 'influence' among already-'influential' blogs. Getting a link on Labour Conspiracy which literally nobody clicks counts more than getting 150 visits from a link in a blog not in wikio's rankings (which is most of them).
What Wikio rank is what blogs are most highly regarded by other bloggers. That in itself is perfectly trustworthy, but they fail to make that as clear as they could and it is only one part of the elephant.
More precisely - "What blogs (that are ranked by Wikio) are most highly regarded by other bloggers (that are ranked by Wikio)".
Which, since one has to submit one's blog to Wikio for it to count at all, introduces an immense selection bias.
I've *never* - not once - seen Wikio mentioned on a non-political blog, for example. And almost never on non-partisan blogs (blogs dealing with feminism, for example).
Effectively, it's a way to reinforce the delusional sense of self-importance of a few 'important bloggers', and I can't see how it has any validity as a measure of any objectively-existing 'influence'. Certainly the 'influential' bloggers rated have tiny audiences compared to, say, BoingBoing...
