A street in Leicester, 1948

That feature set out to investigate the claim that Leicester was home to the prettiest girls in England.

How does the second bicycle stand up?

I think there was a trick with a pedal and the kerb that the cool kids could do.

I belatedly recalled that. It never worked for me because my light weight pedals had toe clips and the crank was too short for most pavements.

My bike frame was like one presented to the Pope but I couldn't copy the cool kids.
