Brentford is lovely, but Essex contains Brentwood, which is on a hilltop where in the 12th century the worshippers of Thomas à Becket drove out Santa Claus. The Brentwood brewery makes some excellent stuff.

I am sure Brentwood is lovely too, but it has no canal and the Getty label for this photo is wrong.
