I'm always intrigued by these private women immortalised like this.Paul Simon's Kathy (Chitty) is happily still alive in Wales somewhere but we lost Betjeman's Joan Hunter Dunn last year and Isherwood's Sally Bowles (Jean Ross) somewhat earlier.
