Captain Zeppos
Newsnight used a catchy tune as background music just now. Thanks to my memory for trivia (and Google) I can reveal that it was used as the theme music for a 1960s children's series from Holland that was screened in Britain as "Captain Zeppos".
Fans of 1960s children's TV themes should hurry to Belle and Sebastian, White Horses and Robinson Crusoe.
Later. I love the internet. The series Captain Zeppos has its own website.

Excellent stuff.
I'll see your Captain Zeppos and raise you The Adventures of Floris.
Captain Zeppos was Belgian (Flemish), not Dutch!
I realise all these foreigners may look the same to you, but...
"I'll see your Captain Zeppos and raise you The Adventures of Floris."
Looked into this, but the English dub of Floris is completely missing, no episodes survive. Still, the Dutch program survives, so if anyone in England recorded the audio at home, it could be recreated.
Actually Captain Zeppos was a Belgium series, not from Holland. Understandable mistake.
it was a Belgium series but the dialogue was in Dutch
