Warwick Avenue was co-produced by ex-Suede lead guitarist Bernard Butler who is said to have given Duffy 'an education' in soul music after she moved to London from West Wales. Longtime musical collaborator with Butler, David McAlmont, better known for his singing, was part of the backing band that played on Duffy's debut album Rockferry.
