Because of TW3, as the in crowd used to call it, all lovers of satire owe Sherrin a huge debt. I also recommend his memoirs. The veteran broadcaster Ned Sherrin, who brought satire to British television screens with That Was The Week That Was, has died.
The 76-year-old, who had been battling throat cancer since last year, died peacefully at his home in Chelsea at 3.30pm.
Later. There is a tribute to Sherrin on Jonathan Fryer's blog. Jonathan knew him - as he seems to know everybody.
