Tramshed, London Road, Leicester
My recent explorations of Leicester's London Road have been guided by Helen Boynton and Derek Seaton's book From Tollgate to Tramshed
The tollgate used to stand at the start of London Road, near Victoria Park. And this is the tramshed.
It stands fractionally outside the city boundary by the roundabout near Leicester racecourse.
Leicester's tram system closed in 1949. This tramshed has had various uses since: the most notable as a transport museum in the 1960s.
