Welcome to the new Liberal Democrat bloggers

There's life yet in the Lib Dem blogosphere: two new blogs were added to the LibDemBlogs aggregator in October. Thanks as ever to Ryan Cullen for sending me this information.

The Mec Journal is written by Matthew Metcalf, updated daily and concerned with "the LGBT community, atheism and religion, sex, relationships and other political topic that Matthew feels like commenting on".

Commenting on the case of the Christian couple who run a bakery and declined to make a cake bearing the statement "Support Gay Marriage", he says:
This case highlights the balance between protecting minority groups from discrimination and persecution and balancing that with individual belief and ideas. On one hand, I believe that the bakers were wrong in their actual belief, but they have served the man in the past, therefore they were not discriminating on his sexuality.
Simon Perks has a keen interest in politics and public policy and write about issues that concern, frustrate or quite simply outrage him.

Reporting a post rerferendum telephone conversation with his mother, he writes:
If my mum’s anything like reasonably representative of your average voter, we’ve walked headlong into the biggest crisis facing the country for quite some time. And we’ve done so, it would seem, without actually realising what we were doing.
