I make that 37 out of 72 MP's occupying a spokesperson's or Whip's position, plus Ed Davey as Leader - is this part of Ed's strategy to build the party's credibility before the next General Election?
ReplyDeleteWhile good from a parliamentary perspective, a very bad idea from a get yourself really well embedded locally so you can be sure of getting re-elected next time. We need to take the message from John Curtice, that 2024 was not a Labour landslide or a Lib Dem triumph, but simply a Conservative collapse, and one which split the tory vote just right.
ReplyDeleteWe must do everything we can to ensure that overall we do not go back next time and that will be a very tough ask.
All our parliamentarians need to recite every day "Time in HoC doesn't get you noticed. Time in the your constituency does".
