The Cabinet Office has appointed a senior Whitehall communicator to a newly-created role as Nick Clegg's head of comms.In September of last year I blogged about an Institute for Government report that suggested Nick needed more civil service support in his role as deputy prime minister.
James Sorene, currently the Department of Health's head of news, will also act as the embattled Deputy Prime Minister's spokesman.
The role will involve working with Clegg's political spokesman James McGrory and chief of staff Lena Pietsch.
