The last days of Derby's trolleybuses

Eight minutes of trolleybuses trundling around Derby accompanied by a commentary on the finer points of the town's transport history may be too much of a good thing for some readers, but here goes.

They ran in Derby between 1932 and 1967, and this footage must have been shot shortly before the system closed down.

Be still my beating heart!!

Incidentally, in 1955 a Derby conductress was fined - in the magistrates' court! - for the heinous offence of displaying an inaccurate side blind on a bus.

Even Blair didn't criminalise that!

There's a Vauxhall Viva HB at about 3'30" so that bit of the film is after September 1966.

My vote for scariest overtaking manoeuvre goes to the white Austin A30 saloon.

I've been run over by a tram, Jock.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see what the underside looks like.
