I learn from this that Mr Opik believes a speed limit on roads with no lighting, blind corners, and very little room for passing let alone overtaking is "idiocy with no limit".
Well, I'm not someone who drives much in the country, but the idea of driving at 60mph in most of the roads I see there terrifies me. So while one may argue about it, I don't see it as "idiocy with no limit" to suggest a lower speed limit as the default might be more appropriate.
I was involved some years ago in a traffic accident where someone driving too fast in a country road came round a corner, couldn't stop in time when she saw both lanes ahead occupied with a car overtaking mine, sped off into the on-coming lane, lost control, had acar coming down that oncoming lane smash into her, killing her and the passenger in that car.
Mr Opik thinks such things don't happen according to his column.
Ditto Adrian, My Devon CC computer came up with: "Access denied, the web site you are trying to access appears in the Pornography category of blocked web sites used by Devon County Council's Filtered Internet Service."

You're just trying to trick us into getting Jo Guest's funbags on our screens at work, you swine.
Don't play the innocent with me.
James Graham credits you with their discovery (the columns not the funbags).
I clicked and it came up "Access is denied".
The Commons authorities are blocking my ability to read the comments of a friend and colleague!
What is the Government afraid of?

I'd be in favour of having no speed limit for cars on country roads, but I wonder how it might affect Segway users.
