Zeep: Ghost Town

Just what the world has been waiting for: a reworking of the Specials song in bossa nova rhythm with new Portugese lyrics discussing the social divide in Rio de Janeiro.

Well it sounds great, and according to Crammed Discs has been given the enthusiastic backing of The Specials’ Jerry Dammers. Of all the Sunday videos I have chosen, it is closest in spirit to the very first: Rachid Taha's Rock El Casbah.

There is more about Zeep on their myspace page.

What a treat! Reminds a little of Gogol Bordello.
