Shropshire Tories want to close village schools
As they so often do, the Conservatives are letting me down by not being Conservative enough. Because, reports the Shropshire Star, Tory run Shropshire Council is proposing to close a number of village schools.
Never mind the Big Society: aren't Tories meant to have romantic feelings about things like village schools?
My picture shows one of the threatened schools - Stiperstones Primary School, with the unmistakable hills behind. The campaign against the closures is already underway.
