Full moon over the Stiperstones

I first saw this glorious photograph of the full moon over the Devil's Chair, a rock formation that stands atop the Stiperstones ridge in Shropshire, on Twitter.

Then on Wednesday it was printed in the Guardian alongside Paul Evans' country diary - sadly it was not posted with the online version.

What attracted me was to the photograph was not just its intrinsic quality: it also reminded me strongly of Bertram Prance's dustwrapper illustration for The Neglected Mountain, Malcolm Saville's seventh Lone Pine book.

The photograph was taken by Andrew Fusek Peters - you can follow him on Twitter. And here is some information on Bertram Prance.
