Ming and the October general election story

Gordon Brown moved yesterday to end speculation about a snap general
election...

Which is interesting, as the gossip around the Conference in Brighton is that Team Ming has been talking up the possibility of an October general election as a way of shoring up the leader's position.

I've heard a few rumours of a Charles Kennedy come back. Do you think that's likely? I'm afraid I am losing faith in Mr Campbell and am rather attracted to the above idea.
