That Harborough result in full

Edward Garnier (Cons) - 26,894
Zuffar Haq (Lib Dem) - 17,097
Kevin McKeever (Lab) - 6,981
Geoff Dickens (BNP)- 1,715
Marietta King (UKIP)- 1,462
David Ball (Eng Dem) - 568
Jeff Stephenson (Lab) - 228

From the Harborough Mail:

Lib Dem supporters had been hopeful of overturning Mr Garnier's 4,000 majority in the lead up to polling day.

The party has been slowly eating away at his majority since 1992.

However it was not to be.

Mr Haq, who received 17,097, up from the 16,644 votes achieved by the Lib Dems in 2005, said: "I would like to congratulate Edward Garnier on his victory. I enjoyed this campaign, it was absolutely superb. The campaign has really been quite interesting.. We all worked extremely hard and it shows that positive campaigning can work."
