As a result of the coalition years and hindsight about its formation in particular, Jo Swinson has valid reasons for her cautionary approach. I appreciate that instinctive distaste for Jeremy Corbyn and his inner circle is more common amongst older people but, in this case, the wisdom of age deserves respect. Corbyn's electoral appeal has fallen at a greater rate since 2015 than the influence of population ageing...
I trust that there is a deal with the Labour Party which may or may not include Jeremy Corbyn. But it has to be guided by the likes of Keir Starmer or Tom Watson on his better days.
And many Remainer or Anti-No Deal Conservative MPs have to face reality. Their future in the Conservative Party is over, whatever happens in the next three months and beyond. I don't expect (or desire) true blue Conservatives to defect to the Lib Dems but I hope that they will vote according to their beliefs. They face deselection anyway.
