No trains across the flooded Somerset Levels



Yesterday it was picturesque but passable. Today the line looks like this.

If I were a LibDem, I'd post pictures of kittens instead: you voted for the removal of the local authority responsibility for flood prevention; you voted for the abolition of the National Rivers Authority in the 'Bonfire of the Quangos'; you voted for last year's cuts in the Environment Agency's funding and staffing - specifically, firing over five hundred hydrologists and water engineers.

Rain and gales are a natural phenomenon: 'natural disasters' are made by human stupidity: and LibDem MP's have played and active part in that.

Perhaps your elected representatives are already trading in their ministerial limousines - a bargain, when you think that a concience has no monetary value whatsoever! - for shares in the manufacture and rental of canoes and carpet cleaners.
