Zimbabwe's slow suicide

There is a good article by Susie Linfield in Dissent. She traces the collapse of Mugabe's Zimbabwe through a study of five widely available books:
  • When a Crocodile Eats the Sun: A Memoir of Africa by Peter Godwin
  • Mukiwa: A White Boy in Africa by Peter Godwin
  • Don’t Let’s Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood by Alexandra Fuller
  • African Laughter: Four Visits to Zimbabwe by Doris Lessing
  • The Stone Virgins by Yvonne Vera
See the This is Zimbabwe blog too.

Just an obersvation, but it seems like they're all books by whites...

I'd be happy for you to recommend some good books on Zimbabwe by black authors.

Er, except Vera. . . who wasn't white.
