Lembit: Please don't send me home, Simon, this is my dream

Is it just me, or does Lembit's last e-mail read a little like the appeal of a despairing X-Factor constestant? Try:
When all the pretence of normal life is stripped away by hard times, you get to know yourself better. I’ve learned why I want to do the job of President. I know I can reach people in a special way, to make them listen and feel listened too. I know it comes from a motivation from deep inside me.
It is quoted in full at The People's Republic of Mortimer.

It's the sheer arrogance of the e-mail that gets me. That and the desperation. Big mistake
