Peter Thornton to fight Penrith and the Border

From the Westmorland Gazette:

Kendal-born small-holder and councillor Peter Thornton has been chosen to fight the Penrith and The Border constituency for the Liberal Democrats.

Mr Thornton, who represents Kirkby Stephen on Cumbria County Council, declared himself ‘delighted’ to be chosen by local party members.

Brilliant, couldn't meet a nicer bloke! Who starts as an RE teacher, becomes a professional photographer, opens a couple of 1 hour photo shops, becomes national chairperson of the Photo Marketing Association, then gets into sausages and local politics.
Peter is a great enthusiast for people and life. He will make a wonderful MP

So Rory Stewart is the heir to David Maclean. Trying to get info on the Libs in the NW is almost impossible - I was told to write to the Head Office in London! Trying to get info online about Peter Thornton is very diificult too. So have the libs come into the 21st century, because they seem unable to communicate? Labour woman seems rather grim and I could find little about her online. I am a floating voter, and anyone would be better than Maclean, so who should I go for: Raving Loony Party or something similar?

Peter Thornton's blog may be a good place to start.
