Tom Watson: Where's your big story on Ealing Southall?

Yesterday morning Tom Watson MP, the Labour supremo in Ealing Southall by-election wrote on his blog:
I’ve just received a phone call, that if true, will mark the most remarkable culmination to one of the most incredible by-elections I have ever worked in.
Since then he has made no reference to this phone call and failed to produce the promised revelation.

Maybe it was a wrong number?

Maybe the phone call just didn't turn up to be true. ;-)

Or perhaps it was Grant Shapps posing as somebody else, or somebody who had guessed his number?

If anyone wants to check the veracity of the above allegation - call Grant on Ealing 1234.

"Ealing 1234" sounds like a police drama from the 1950s.

Well given that the BBC headline for their latest online piece about the by-election was "Ealing Comedy?", a sideline into Dixon Of Dock Green territory seems the least we can provide...

The residents of Southall are still none the wiser.
