On 11 October I heard someone promoting a friend's chances in next year's Lib Dem Blog of the Year Award.

Genuinely confused. What's the issue here?

I am not sure what you mean by "issue".

My point it is that it is only October and someone is already talking up a friend's chances next years Blog of the Year Awards.

Are we talking at crosspurposes here? You link to this page - http://www.libdemvoice.org/top-of-the-blogs-the-golden-dozen-138-16476.html - but I can't see any reference to the Blog of the Year, BOTYs or anything related.

I am happy to concede that I may be going blind, but I can't see it.
