Now here's a memory. In December 1989 I was, as a member of the University of Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, playing in a Christmas concert at which the choir also performed. But a cold epidemic had swept through the choir, so the conductor in desperation drafted the orchestra into the choir and we had to sightread inter alia a couple of these carols including this one.
