I once confessed that every time I hear Mr Karzai, the President of Afghanistan, mentioned, I think of Kenneth Williams as the Khasi of Kalabar in Carry On... Up the Khyber.
Equally, whenever someone says we should "talk to the Taliban" I think of Rex Harrison singing "If I Could Talk to the Animals" in Dr Dolittle.
