Wash Brook Park, Leicester

After the cricket finished on Saturday, I set off to walk back into the city. On the way I came across this sign and so discovered a new Leicester attraction. It is more or less where Aylestone meets Knighton.

This park is a wedge-shaped piece of ground on either side of the Wash Brook beside the Midland mainline. I have been passing it twice a day on the train to work and back for more than 20 years, but never noticed it.

I looked today and found that it is hard to see more than the treetops, which explains why.

This entrance marks the thin end of the wedge.
