Richard III dig open day on Saturday

From the University of Leicester website:
In response to the huge amount of local and national interest in the ongoing work, the Greyfriars Project will be open to the public this Saturday, 8 September 2012, giving you the chance to view the remarkable progress which has been made and some of the items unearthed.
The University of Leicester, working in partnership with the Richard III Society and Leicester City Council, will open the site to the public on Saturday between 11.00am and 2.00pm. Access will be from Greyfriars Street itself.
Admission is free and no advance booking is needed. However, there may be queues as we are expecting significant interest and there is a limit to the number of people who can actually get into the site at any one time.
As that website points out, this opportunity coincides with 2012's Heritage Open Days. This will see a number of buildings in Leicester being specially opened to the public.

Later. Some further open days have been announced.
